Congratulation to Ron Anderson on taking over the reins from Eddie Nicholson as District 6 Secretary. I’m sure we will all look forward to working with Ron. The first item on Ron’s agenda is the annual District 6 Secretaries meeting at Blackford BC on Sunday, 25th February at 2pm. Anyone who has anything they wish discussed at the meeting can drop him an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Decisions regarding the greens for the 2018 District Semis and Finals and also the Mixed Pairs semis and finals have been agreed and the clubs involved have been notified.

It’s a sad good bye to Eddie
Last week at Ayr Eddie handed in his letter of retirement, as District Secretary, to Bowls Scotland C.E.O. Alan McMillan.
He will continue to fulfil his duties, as both District Secretary and National President, until the Bowls Scotland AGM on November 22nd, when a new District Secretary and President will be appointed.
As far as he is aware a letter will be sent to all clubs (in August or Early September) inviting them to nominate someone to take on the position of District Secretary. If there is only one nomination then he is automatically appointed – if more than one then a letter will be sent to all clubs (in September/October) asking you to vote who they wish to take on the position on District 6 Secretary.
Eddie would like to thank everyone for their support over the past 22 years and wish your club and Bowls Scotland every success in the future.
In return I am sure you will agree that over the past 22 years Eddie has done a magnificent job and thank him from every club and member that he has been involved with. We wish his successor all the very best in taking over what is a very demanding post!
Kinnoull Invitation Fours
On Saturday 24th June at Kinnoull BC Perth held our annual invitation Fours competition. There were rinks from Barr and Stroud, Cambusbarron as well as local rinks from Perth, West End, Kinnoull and Scone Rec. We had a windy but dry day and after some very tight games in the sections the winners were Scone Rec’s rink of John Anton, Fraser Mitchell, Alan Robertson snr and Paul Gellatly who defeated a Kinnoull / Luncarty rink of Jon Thomson, Geoff Cox, Jim Demuth and John Thomson
